| Gifts from the Holy land - The weekend of August 14 & 15, a display of beautiful handmade olivewood carving from the holy land will be available. Holy land is the beginning and center of Christianity. And the Christian Families are the oldest Christians. They continue to live in difficult situations. They have worked over 2000 years to protect the Holy sites in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth, and also to spread the word of Jesus. For about the past 1000 years they used carvings to keep the Bible alive in dimensions. We need to support our fellow Christians in the holy land and one way to do that is by purchasing some of these carvings. Last century, the Christians were about 37%, but today they are only 5%. By your support through the sales of these carvings, 100 families have been helped to remain in the Holy land, and more than 200 students to study in Catholic schools. Supporting these families is important also for the peace in the Middle East. Please stop by their tables and get your gifts directly from the little town of Bethlehem. Thank you all and God bless. |
